 An external flash to isolate the rider more would make this amazing because the composition and vignetting is really good. Great photo overall though

 Possibly. Or, there is someone just out of shot who was holding the bike, let go, the photo was taken and the bike was grabbed again before it fell. But yeh it does look like a hammer.

 This is only a Nikon D3000, basic DSLR with stock lens so nothing special but good enough. Unfortunately all the ice has gone here now Frown. Thanks for the suggestion though.

 It really isnt. Look closer yours has a shock mount from the seat tube. Mine doesn't. Well it does but not like that. Also, your seat stays are square, mine are round. Anyway I have sold it now and it is no longer mine.
